Montana's Family Summer Festivals

Summertime is rolling in, and there's no shortage of things to do in Montana this season! From Farmer's Markets, to festivals, and more, Montana is brimming with exciting, family friendly activities for you and your loved ones to enjoy! Here's just a few of the fantastic festivities you can get up to!

Summer Fair, Billings

Run every year by the Yellowstone Art Museum, this festival is a gathering of artists from near and far! At this festival, you'll have the opportunity to view plenty of incredible handmade pieces, from jewelry to paintings, wood-workings, and more! There's live entertainment, and activities for adults and kids alike. Art lessons will keep the kids entertained while the adults can enjoy the food, drinks, and purchase handmade goods! Check out the summer fair from July 14-15 in Billings this summer! 

Missoula Farmer's Market

Fun for the whole family, and a great opportunity to take home some produce while supporting local businesses, the Missoula Farmer's Market is a staple in the community! Fresh fruits and vegetables ranging in selection means you'll walk out with a bountiful harvest! You'll also enjoy artisan baked goods, home-grown meat and dairy, fruit preserves, honey, soaps and candles, and more! There's often live music, and a trip through the Farmer's market is the perfect way to spend a Saturday! It even made Sunset magazine's top 10 farmers markets!! This incredible event is running from May to October.

Sweet Pea Festival, Bozeman

For live music, parades, delicious food, craft beer, and over 100 art vendors, the Sweet Pea festival in Bozeman is the place to be this summer. One of the best parts about this festival, is that it's a non-profit! Any money raised beyond funding the event is given back to community in the form of grants to support art and education! It's uber family friendly, and overflowing with family friendly activities for all! It takes place August 4th, 5th, 6th this year!

Polson Main Street Cherry Festival

One of Montana's best gems is the cherries. Every summer, the harvest begins, and this cherry festival is overflowing with cherries themselves, as well as cherry pies, cooking contests, local vendors, and more! It's held in July, on the 29th and 30th, which is when the cherries are at their peak ripeness! There's even handmade art for sale, and plenty of exhibits with Montana made items. This family friendly event is as delicious and sweet as it is entertaining!

Montana Folk Festival, Butte

Free music is coming to town this summer! Which town, you may ask? Butte, Montana is holding the annual Montana Folk Festival this July! It's a 3 day festival that has all of the ethnic and festival foods, folklife demonstrations, family fun activities for the kids and adults alike, workshops, and more! All centered around celebrating Montana's rich culture and beautiful folk music, this festival takes place July 14-16.
